The Chastity Mansion is first and foremost a community page, originally designed for people interested in the Chastity lifestyle to come and talk with others in a free, no pressure environment. Since then, the website has grown through leaps and bounds. The forum is now one of the most welcoming places I have actually visited on the internet, it’s full of helpful members who are more than willing to help you out when you first join the site, and then will be friendly and helpful every time you come back. The overall design of the website is fantastic as well. It’s easily recognisable and one of the simplest to navigate I have come across, through the forums to the chat room, the ‘captioned images’ galleries through to personal galleries and reviews of various chastity devices.

Forum

The forum is amazingly well set up. With separate areas for female and male chastity, for reviews and cuckolding, for off topic chat and areas for help and recommendation. The entire forum is very well moderated as well, even though I don’t actually believe it needs to be. In the time there, I have not seen one ‘argument’ or instance of ‘trolling’, the forum seems to be pretty solidly set up with friendly and helpful administration and moderation.

Suggestions:

So far this website and forum has come along brilliantly, in the past week they have updated their forum software to an updated version, so there are a few bugs around, but nothing major that would actively affect any new users. This website and community is one of the friendliest I’ve actually come across, with helpful comments on everything from chastity devices through to clubs and munch information. One suggestion I would make for the website is to actually break away from the forum software for a bit of the site, specifically the reviews area, and build on a separate area for reviews and information about chastity devices and add-ons for such devices. This way, they would actually have a specific area on the site away for the forums for information and reviews. Aside from that, this is a fantastic community to join, and one of the best websites for information and chastity life-stylers out there.

However they do have a separate members area for featured members and ‘gold members’, though I was unable to see on the website exactly how to become featured or gold.

Suggestions:

The forums and gallery sections of the website are actually superb, allowing you to navigate through forums specifically catering for personal ads, keyholding services, fiction, videos and others. The gallery section is actually quite amusing to flick through, with various sections devoted to Mistress images, teasing images, captioned images, which are regularly updated by members, and various other categories that are fun and pleasing to look at.

Overall the entire website is pleasing to the eye, with only a few adverts around to spoil the overall layout. Links to various other websites are easily accessible and are always specialised to the content of the area of the site you are on. The forums are friendly with people there willing to help you locate the various areas you want to be in, in specific areas for people looking for fiction or videos you are looking for.

KeyHolderFinder is a website specifically designed for people into the chastity lifestyle who are either interested in finding a keyholder or are keyholders looking for chastity slaves, it’s actually quite a well-designed web site with various areas for chat, groups, forums and searching. In the fortnight since I signed up with the site, I’m actually happy to report that I haven’t seen one ‘fake’ profile or anything with the normal ‘poser’ style trying to grab your attention for paid services. From everything I can see, this web site is not only extremely well run, but the entirety of the members actually seem to be real people who are actively into the lifestyle and are interested in talking about and discussing the various merits and changes a chastity lifestyle can bring.

Search Facility

The search engine allows for searching through their vast selection of members and is actually one of the most innovative search engines I’ve come across. Allowing you to search by name, keyword, area, postcode, age and a whole host of other options in the advanced settings. After you’ve searched, you can actually save the search and go back to it time after time to either edit the search more or continue going through the search results. Another good feature they have implemented is the way you can actually view the people who have been visiting your profile and then go to theirs to see their profile. It’s a simple thing but it is useful to see who has been looking at your profile and visiting it regularly.

Suggestions:

Overall, this website is a fantastic resource for people interested in the chastity / tease and denial lifestyle. With areas specifically designed for information on the various chastity devices out there and then having reviews on each chastity device by members who have actually used them. The forums on the site are well regulated and friendly to come into, I’ve only been online there a fortnight and have found some interesting conversations in the forums and have spoken to some interesting people there with different viewpoints on various discussion.

Overall this website is definitely a valuable resource for people in the Chastity lifestyle, with helpful people around the website who are willing to talk about their own experiences with different chastity belts, and are open and easy to talk to. As a contact site, I do think this is one of the better ones I have come across for people specifically interested in chastity, as a resource site for people interested in the chastity lifestyle as a whole, I think this is a fantastic website and should be high on the list of bookmarks for anyone interested in it.

If you are interested in Burlesque or the various sub community based around the tease scene, then this site is definitely going to be one for you worth watching over the next year. The site design is clean and easy to use, with various areas set aside for groups that work like forums and members areas where the profiles and information is entered in a very simple and user friendly format.

There are various groups for every area of the Burlesque industry, through photography to dancing, and everything inbetween. With various areas for up and coming performers and people looking to break into the burlesque scene to talk to the people already working in it and get to know the industry.

Members, be they private or business based, also have the option of buying prime advertising space on the home page of the website for $15 per month, where several good companies, including BurlesqueUK, already have adverts. There are also separate areas for member photos, videos and interviews.

Search Facility

The search facility is actually really good on this site, allowing you to search the member database by name, location, search term or a specific ‘tag’ for the area in the industry they specify in.

Suggestions:

This site is quickly becoming one of my favourites for Burlesque information, with good areas for all the different parts of Burlesque, good groups and information about every aspect of the subculture. One thing I would like to see in the future would be a chat room area, as the groups/forums are excellent but no really good for real-time chat. The main page also comes across as a bit cluttered for the first week or so until you get used to it, but this is perfect and fits in well with the overall theme of the site. Another thing that is a slight bug, is the fact that this site is extremely media intensive. With music, videos and high resolution images on every page, which makes attempting to load up the page via a slow connection or a mobile device a bit of a nightmare. Overall though, this is one of the best site’s I have come across, with plenty of information and hints/tips about the international Burlesque community.

First Impressions

Pretty reasonable site overall, once you get past a few bugs in the system, you’re treated to a good overall view and editing system for your profile. What is sad is the fact that your profile immediately gets taken over by various adverts for Bingo, Big Brother Quizzes and various other spam links that I’m pretty sure will be riddled with ad-ware and spy-ware. The interface on the site is pretty intuitive though, having automatic pulldown menus for the various options, all in all it makes wandering the site pretty simple once you’ve got to grips with the teal green layout of the system and the extremely limited profile information that you are allowed to submit.

Search Facility- The search facility is actually one of the best I’ve come across on a free site, allowing you to search by name, e-mail, interests… hell, everything down to the first part of the postcode. Results are displayed evenly in 10 per page listings and it’s pretty simple to quickly add new contacts and browse through their information.

Suggestions:

The profile’s alloted to each member are extremely limited… with 90% of the space going to adverts and friend status updates… you’re only allowed an extremely tiny area… we’re talking six words across, which then stretches the entire height of the profile and then some… this could have been better planned out as reading someone’s profile gets extremely tiresome, to a level where I actually started just copying people’s profile information to Word and reading it there.

I can’t actually tell you how many members go on the site either, as there’s no information about how many members are on in total, but when I’ve been logged on, i’ve rarely seen more than 5 to 8 people online at any one time. This is a new site however, started in 2010, so I’m willing to give it some leyway with the teething buts and give it a year or so to sort out the glitches in the system and gain some momentum. I’ll be watching this one grow and will come back to it at the end of this year to see how it’s doing and if it’s fixed any of the features that seemed to be glitching.

First Impressions

BDSMsingles is actually one of the better contact sites for BDSM contacts that Ive come across, it has it’s faults, but overall is a very well laid out site with some interesting features that you don’t normally see on contact sites. The free membership gives you access to about 80% of the site, and while areas like the chatroom and forums are offlimit to freeusers, there are enough bits and pieces in the free areas to keep you occupied for quite a while.

The few gripes I’ve had with the site are actually few and far between, the main profile section of the site is really user friendly, and while it may take you upto an hour or so to actually fill in all the questions and actually get your profile running, it’s nice to wander onto another profile and see these questions answered as they are pretty useful. One thing I’m not to keen on is the ‘blacklisted’, for use of a better word, way they run various parts of the site. A good example of this is that if someone specifices ‘non smoker’, and you have put ’smoker’ in your profile, it actually pops up when you try and message this person stating that you don’t meet their criteria… Not quite sure if this is a good thing, as it can be specified to sex, location, what you’re looking for, interests and so on… so it does really narrow down the people you can actually send ‘flirts’ and messages to, and obviously narrows down the people that can message you.

Another gripe I have come across is their photo system… After the hour or so it took me to actually get my profile up and running, I tried to upload a photo of myself to use in my profile… After waiting the allotted time for the picture to be ‘okayed’ by the admin, I found it had been refused because it contained personal information… So I tried this with various photos taken of me indulging in everything from Bondage through to Knife play… no go… it seems you cannot actually upload ANY photo of yourself indulging in any kink… the photo that was finally allowed on my profile was actually a photoshopped one that wasn’t even my own body… not sure how to take that, either score one for my photoshopping abilities or an epic failure on the admin’s behalf.

Suggestions:

After spending a few hours browsing the site and various members, one thing I did actually find refreshing is the absolute lack of ‘fake profiles’ around… I maybe came across one or two that were fake and demanded ‘tribute’ or ‘go to this website to see more of me’… But overall the admin do seem to be doing a fantastic job keeping the site there for actual members to contact each other, not for spamming and fake profiles.

The site layout is pretty nice as well, it’s easy on the eyes and rarely do you actual come across a popup page. If you do actually click on something that you need to be a paid member for, you’re just directed to a new page advertising the site and the benefits you get for parting with your hard earned cash.

The overall feel I got from the site was pretty positive as well, the ‘little black book’ section was a nice touch, allowing you to upload private photos that are only available to those friends in your black book. However the site was let down by a few niggling bugs that kept cropping up, the ‘personal information in photos’ bug was one that particularly annoyed me, and the way the profiles are arranged with only a limited space for your own words and masses of space answering set questions about your lifestyle, hobbies, things you enjoy and personality quickly bored me as it felt like I was wandering around filling in a myspace questionnaire…

Thankfully though, BDSMsingles IS only a UK site… This became pretty obvious when browsing the site and looking through the various members. It’s actually only UK, no Americans, French or any other nationality, there were one or two profiles stating that the person was only in the UK for a few months at a time, but overall I was very impressed to find a literal UK only BDSM site.

Fetish link is an international fetish and BDSM magazine that caters for everyone, dealing with everything from club reviews and photos, down to shops and helping you decide which shop is best for which product. The site itself is reasonably well laid out, with different ‘themes’ available to make navigation that much easier. One of the downsides of being a free site is the various ‘pay adds’ that crop up on nearly every page, though as a magazine website, this wasn’t entirely unexpected.

Once you’ve got to grips with the overall website idea, navigating through the various articles and galleries is a breeze. Finding various shops and noting the customer reviews at the bottom is always a welcome addition to the normal advertising on websites. Fetish link also has various forums available for discussion topics, with the forum spread out into various categories such as Burlesque, BDSM, Clothing and Equipment, making finding the right area for you to browse through easily accessible.

Suggestions:

The site is pretty well laid out, with various areas for different shops grouped into various categories, this does make scrolling through to find the right item that you’re looking for quite easy, but also leads to a lot of ‘cross advertising’ with shops being listed half a dozen times when they stock various different items.

The ‘profile system’ does need some work if Fetish Link is going to serve as a proper forum site for members to talk with each other, while it already has a basic message system similar to Fetlife, the profiles are extremely limited, listing only the bare minimum of details about any given member.

The forums are actually surprisingly well thought out though, and there are some helpful members around to help new people navigate their way through to the right area.

Overall, Fetish Link does work well as an internet magazine, with different reviews, articles and links to various Fetish and BDSM communities all around the UK, as well as the US and other international countries. Currently the website does seem to be mostly UK orientated, which is a nice change to most fetish communities, though reviews on American fetish areas seem to be growing quite quickly on the ‘top news’ segment.

I think this website is one to watch over the next year or so to see how it grows, if they fix a few of the various bugs in the system and enhance the community aspect of the website, I could see this one growing to rival IC in use and accessibility.
