Blog – Politics and Me

Politics and Me.

I really don’t understand politics.. all I know is that they affect all of us. There seems to be no-one putting these policies into basic terms and it seems to me that governments seem to dress things up to confuse us.

I am not a racist
I’m not saying I am voting for BNP
I’m not getting on my soapbox either!

A while ago I was on Absolute Radio with Tim Shaw.. I met a young band called Missing Andy.. They sang the song; Made in England… These young lads are talented, brilliant and the message they send is an important one. Yet they are unsigned?? Because they are too controversial for the general public.. Yet Nick Griffin is on Question Time? Prime Time telly giving out his very basic message..

Although I stay well away from politics and news stories.. I thought I would write this because I felt I should give you an insight to my feelings about politics in general.

After many years of feeling that the world is an unfair place and how the UK’s political correctness values have ruined what we called an amazing country. After years of confusing government policies and being the subject of many unfair catch 22 situations as a parent, worker and citizen of the UK.. watching Question Time for me, has to be the biggest eye opener to politics yet.

The British National Party BNP of course, I do not necessarily share the same “views” but they aren’t a far cry from what the other parties should thinking!!

My personal experience of Politics is this…

My children went on a school trip, I sent in with them some sun cream.. as you do… My children came home from school sun burnt to buggery! With this I go to the school as a responsible parent and complain at my child’s misfortune only to be told, the teachers are not allowed to “touch” the children! If I thought my children were going to be nonced off with the application of suncream at school, quite frankly I wouldn’t send them in!
I hear the crys of the teachers saing they are not teachers anymore, they’re more like the police of policy.

My brother is a heroine addict. This addiction is a disease.. and I truly believe my brother is mentally ill… he gets handled with kid gloves and the nurses at the hospital are not really allowed to mention this because it invades his human rights..How frustrating do you think this is for all of us to watch this boy grow into a monster, when he is capable of being a decent human being with the right help? Doing cold turkey time after time, helping him devise business plans so he can better himself and watching the “ex-drug user” be turned away and watching his happy drug free soul whitter away and the drugs look like the only option. In reality, he should be hospitalised under special section and dealt with properly, educated into thinking DRUGS are bad. Drug users I think you will find account for quite a huge proportion of prisoners in the UK. EMCCDA statistics for 2003..

Being a single mum and trying to study and work was hard work.. I came from a dysfunctional family, education for me was about life, having a bit of a hard time and then seeing light at the end of the tunnel was wicked.. BUT when you are struggling to eat and pay for child care AND work.. benefits all of a sudden look like the better option! Constantly fighting the urge to back down and just make do with social housing and scrimp and scrape life because its just easier.

Giving donations to charities knowing that its a profitable business also grates me. Watching the multi-conglomerates succeed in giving us no choice because they bully local communities into a “clone” version of the nearest bigger town eventually outing the UK independant companies to be a thing of the past upsets me so much.

Watching on as the youth get caught up in celebrity lives today and aspiring to this but forgetting what makes us British..We’re known for our sense of humour, our pubs and our football teams.. but we also forget that we did once upon a time have strict values.. Don’t look in a ladies purse, table manners and the English Gentleman were what made us who we are..

I Cringe when I hear kids swearing in front of their Grandmas and the mothers laugh because they are no longer allowed to discipline their children. I don’t believe children should be beaten and I don’t believe that Parents should be scared to give their kids a clip round the ear when mis-behaving!

Who do I vote for?

We are a country on its knees. The UK government need to seriously think about their policies… because the BNP are rising fast.. We need a proactive government.. not one that acts like a rabbit in the headlights every time someone mentions Immigration or Human Rights!

People are down trodden and they can see that we are suffering due to silly mistakes made by the government.. Jack Straw couldn’t even admit that this countries immigration policy is a problem.

Nick Griffins views, maybe extreme BUT if the government do nothing to change the things he says he’s going to put right (once elected.. he can do what he wants) then of course people will vote for him.

The newspapers are all the same.. Propagandaand clever media representitives cloud our judgement and focus on the bad to sell papers FACT. What we read is not always true and basically whoever we vote for is of no importance because they are all wrong.. and for that reason I’m NOT voting at all.

There I said it!.

Sadly, it is almost impossible to mention immigration without being deemed a racist. However, I sense a groundswell of support for the view that given the strain under which our welfare/health/education systems, we should looking after our own first and not be seen as Europe’s soft option for immigration. This is even more keenly felt in harder times. Unless the mainstream parties address this, more extreme factions like the BNP will pick up support. However, I doubt they’ll wake up and smell the coffee till the BNP get a few more seats…then they will crap themselves.

I’ll spare you the Victor Mildrew style rant but I don’t think you are far wrong about the odd clip around the ear. Way back when I was a lad, when the world was young and dinosaurs were common, we respected teachers and other authority figures out of fear. Kids will not stop being kids merely out of ‘respect’. They are very good judges of how far they can push their luck ;-)

As for voting, the choices are depressing. Who was it who said “Don’t vote, it only encourages them”?

Victor Mildrew and the Anonymous Anarchist Quote…

What bothers me about not voting, is how long will the government leave it like this? I know more and more people are seeing sense in what the BNP say…

It feels like the tension is brewing in the UK… emigration is an option to those that can.. and those that can’t??

    Worrying… very worrying.

(Didn’t think anyone read my mad ramblings ha ha)

    Thank Bruce for commenting xx

Whilst I hate the mainstream partie, tall the same, I’ll never vote BNP. I live on the Isle of Dogs, London (now called London Docklands thank to the yuppies). While there is aproblem with the amount of immigration when the BNP came and got a presence here the whole place became a rascist hell hole. Friends of mine had to move their daughter to another school the girl had ‘Paki’ mates. Rascism exists and there are problems, but all the BNP do is stir it all up, avoid proper solutions and cause more shit and division between people. What we found was that we had more in common with the local asians than we did with the yuppies. The yuppies had more money, cought up local housing and forced out local people. The BNP just blame weaker sections of society when it is rich scum that actually control society and mess our live up.

    SteveinBlack…

Hi steve, thanks for your comments.. I do remember “The Isle of Dogs”
Your comments indeed show the frustrations of many.. The government need to really tackle ALL issues, my post is simply highlighting the fact that if the immigration issues are not dealt with properly, this gives the BNP an easy platform to climb on and society will pay for this in the long run.

Don’t forget that the ‘rich scum’ and yuppies also subsidise society through generating wealth which can be taxed to pay for the welfare etc.

It is worrying when the tabloids start to quote Nick Griffin as their opinion and not attributing it to him, e.g. Daily Express recently alluded to a deliberate Labour policy to create a multi-cultural society through immigration.

However, Labour are starting to carry on like a rather sinister dicatorship, e.g. police interrogation of a couple who objected to Gay Pride under hate crime laws, use of anti-terrorist laws by councils to snoop on minor non-terrorist offences, creation of thought crime via Extreme Porn legislation, ignoring scientific advice on drugs ‘cos it doesn’t suit their policies etc.

So which of these corrupt self-serving bastards do we vote in next time? It seems to be a choice bewteen the devil and the deep blue sea.

    It’s just all SO wrong!

its sad, i read the bit about our brother and i cried. I know its true, and we are a country on our knees. the truth is we have almost lost our independance. You can say something as it is without being called a racist/sexist (add more terms here) its impossible to fight for a country that is by day losing its very heritage. people are scare to be proud and if you are theres a group saying hold on you cant to that. we dont like it because we dont come from here and its agsint what we belive?.
But isnt this our home. isnt this the country were supost to be proud of. what happened to the world i remember as a child!
no goverment is bring out any policys to help the current issues that really matter. like keeping britain britain

My view is that the incumbent government listens too intently to vocal minorities, whilst ignoring the silent majority. This complicates laws and regulations, therefore increasing taxes to pay for this legislation.

If only they knew that what real people want is simpler laws and lower taxes. Every minority group that shouts loud enough receives a government grant, while high taxes prevent the voluntary philanthropy that used to aid those that need and deserve it.

I’m sorry about your brother and wish you all luck breaking his addiction.
