BDSM for Beginners is a documentary education style DVD, following a couple being trained in the basics of BDSM, with the very influencial Mistress Absolute guiding them on thier journey. Mistress Absolute runs through exactly what she is going to teach them in the intro, this video covers safety, Spanking, Bondage, Sensory deprivation and roleplay.

Intro - Mistress introduces herself and runs through CLEARLY what you will learn on this DVD.
We then meet the novice couple and Mistress engages into a conversation as to why the couple are wanting to get into the world of BDSM.

BDSM Safety – Within BDSM there are many erotic and wonderful feelings that surround it, couples can push each others limits and explore each other in depth, but there are a few things you should know about kinky play BEFORE you enter into it with your partner. These safety tips are invaluble. Mistress covers this subject well, asking questions that most people wouldn’t even think of asking in a vanilla situation. The couple then go on to exploring spanking.

Spanking - Spanking is one of my personal favourites.. and as experienced as I am, even I learnt a few new tricks from this section of the DVD.. Positions, implements and spanking techniques with some safety tips added to provide extra security within play. Very well constructed, and you could see the couple were enjoying this part.. some humour is thrown in for good measure and makes this quite an enjoyable watch.

Fetish Shops – When you visit Ann Summers, you notice that the “Fetish” section is very “soft” and on watching porn like Kink.Com, you will notice that there are many “hardcore” items that most “vanilla” shops don’t cater for.. this part of the DVD takes you to a well known fetish shop called “Fettered Pleasures”. Here you will find everything you need to venture into the world of kinkdom. Mistress helps the Novice couple pick some items which are suitable for Bondage. After thier selection and an explaination into the various items at home, Mistress then takes the couple into a lesson on basic Bondage.

Bondage - Now that the couple have purchased various bondage items, Mistress runs through how to put them into action and some more safety techniques.. the main focus is on rope bondage, however the more simple forms like cuffs etc are covered beforehand. An explaination of different ropes (Hemp, Nylon etc) and then some interesting ways to tie your lover up are covered with some light hearted fun in the kitchen. The male party then gets tied up and blindfolded before being led upstairs to the bedroom for some sensory deprivation fun.

Sensory Deprivation – Mistress explains how sensory deprivation can further open the doors to some extremely erotic play and the reasons why this works for people. There are some excellent pointers in this part that I think most couples wouldn’t think about usually, invoving some items you can find around you house! You see how much this couple are now enjoying this session and they start to put everything together in a romantic setting with the Mistress guiding them through.. Now for some roleplay so you can finally put your learning into action!

Roleplay - I personally found this section very amusing.. the couple by this point were obviously feeling the vibe and they get dressed up in some horny clothing and engage in some play acting to round thier educational day off.. you can’t help but giggle when they come out and step straight into the roleplay with gusto!

Fetish Clubs – With all this now put into place.. Mistress then takes the couple to a Fetish Club.. Subversion. She lets them go and explore club life and she goes off and interviews some visitors to the club.. you get a great vibe from the visitors and then she meets up with the couple and you can see they have had a wicked night out!..

Conclusion - I think this video is absolutely ideal for people that have exhausted the “vanilla” way of life and are looking to start out in BDSM. Its a clear and well structured educational film and when you have so many important subjects to cover whilst engaging in play, this DVD puts it in lamens terms.. Its a bit like “BDSM for dummies”… so if you want to know how to get into kink, then this DVD is for you.
